What Think Ye of Christ?

Christ, speaking to the Pharisees, asked, "What think ye of Christ? whose son is he?" (Matthew 22:42)

In essence, Christ is asking, "Do you know me?" In the intercessory prayer found in John 17. He teaches why it is important to know Him. "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3)

Everything Christ is has everything to do with the Father. Heavenly Father loves His children. Christ is His Only Begotten Son. Christ loves Heavenly Father. Christ loves His children. He teaches the Father's children to love the Father. His sacrifice was made with the purpose of bringing us back to our Father.

In this life we have the opportunity to come to know them, the Father and the Son. As we do so, it will become natural for us to share with others. They are our brothers and sisters. Christ said, in Luke 22:31-32, "Behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren."

It is my desire to learn of Christ, come to know Him and by Him, my Father. The more we reach out to strengthen our brethren, the more He will reveal Himself to us. In Doctrine and Covenants 88:67-68 we are told, "And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things. Therefore, sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God, and the days will come that you shall see him; for he will unveil his face unto you, and it shall be in his own time, and in his own way, and according to his own will."

The glory of the Father is "to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." (Moses 1:39) Christ is the means by which that can happen. It is our opportunity to participate in Salvation, be it our own or that of our brothers and sisters.

Conference

Semiannually The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds a general conference broadcast to television and radio. It is also printed in the Church's magazine "The Ensign." It is available for all.

This Conference has been quite an experience for me. O the greatness of Motherhood! Is there a greater calling in life? I am excited to become a mother. I want to raise my children in righteousness. I want to send an army of good people into the world. I want to teach my children to be good. I expect them to teach their friends and influence others for good. I want them to serve missions and think as missionaries every day.

Mothers and fathers have an amazing opportunity to shape the lives of young people, to teach them truth and surround them with light. Many see much darkness in the world, parents can teach their children to chase it away with light and goodness.

I am glad to have part in this glorious work of Motherhood. It is central to the plan of happiness. I am so glad that God teaches us through His beloved prophet and apostles.
